The Week Before Your Appointment
PEDICURE/MANICURES: Make sure your nails are clean and polish is fresh (chipped polish shows in photos). Moisturize your skin, especially your feet!
HAIR MAINTENANCE: If you colour your hair, make sure your roots are touched up, it WILL show in the images. A fresh cut will give you confidence, but its not recommended to tray anything too radical or new before your photoshoot.
Shave or remove any body hair you do not want to show in the images. If you wax or use other methods of hair removal, please do so a few days ahead of time so any red bumps or skin irritation has time to heal before you are photographed.
BEAUTY SLEEP. Nuff said! Get lots of sleep the night before so you don’t have bags under your eyes.
MORNING RITUALS. Stand up straight, look yourself in the mirror, and tell yourself at least THREE flattering things you love about how you look, and different ones each day. This is a great habit to be in!
HYDRATE! Drink lots of water the day (or better week) before for hydrated and glowing skin.
TANNING: This is somewhat of a controversial topic, because some people LOVE their tans, self tanning lotion and spray tans. I ask my clients to please avoid them as they tend to make you look orange and stain my props and set. If you must tan, please do no sooner than 3 days prior to your photoshoot and do not go more than a shade or two darker than your natural colour. If you have a natural tan, don’t worry about summer tanlines, everyone has them! My personal stance is that if you are naturally pale – embrace it!
What to wear and bring
Plan for three outfits, or if you are not sure, bring them all. As part of the service and I work with you to find the most flattering looks to photograph. Think of what is your favorite lingerie outfit that makes you look and feel fabulous. That’s the one to bring!
