Most people are never completely comfortable with their body. Once you have had children, and life starts to show, women develop more insecurities on top of just their size, hair type or body shape, to stretch marks, scars, veins and things that mark time and their lifes adventures. We have a such a warped sense of reality, we hyper focus on just those small things that no one else notices or cares about.
I have had women call me, hesitant about a boudoir photo shoot because they think that if a photographer sees them half naked, they would be grossed out. They are worried that when I meet them, they are somehow different from all other women and wont get any decent images.
I love to prove them wrong. Light, great angles and a good photographers eye, can flatter your body, and photography can show it off in amazing ways you cannot imagine.
I am not going to say that boudoir is a therapy session. But its my job to find all the unique beauty about you, and flatter it with lighting and angles to make you look great in the images. Sometimes its a little wake up call to remind you or show you that you are gorgeous. Every single woman who enters my studio is different, yet they are ALL THE SAME. I have learned over the years photographing boudoir that everyone has a sultry side, everyone has great features about them, and each of them are unique. Size does not matter. What matters is how you feel.
So, if its for you, consider doing a boudoir photo shoot! Seeing yourself a new way can improve yourself esteem, empower you to accept and love yourself more, and celebrate yourself, for yourself. If you are hesitant, you are welcome to make and appointment and come visit my studio (in the Comox Valley) and chat about how I can make the session one you will love. 🙂
