Everyone wants to look great in their boudoir photos. My secret to getting knockout imagery, is in …..posing. (Aside from my creativity, experienced eye, talent and technical capability, lol.)
I don’t hide the fact during my photoshoots that I am a bit of bossy pants in directing clients posture and posing. I pride myself in it – because NO ONE wants a picture of them with a slumped back or crooked arms. I want my clients to feel comfortable right away in the fact I am coaching them into the most flattering shapes to get the best results. For instance, some of my favorite angles are ones of ladies raising themselves up such as the image below of the absolutely stunning knockout babe Ms. D.
For the more confident client who brings in the cheeky lingerie, I like to show it off. Crossing their legs while standing, and leaning into one hip creates a flattering angle and elongates the body, especially in heels.
Another portrait position I love is one that focuses on the eyes and face, leaning relaxed on a pillow. I imagine if this pose had a name, it would be ‘pillow talk.’
Some clients like Ms. D, have the personality that can express ‘bashful’ or playful in their pictures. Honest smiles and crinkle eyed-giggles caught on camera.
Ms. D has such a soft grace and a simple pose can capture it. Sometimes its a holding of the bra strap, or asking a client to touch her hair or move a sheet.
The ‘lying on my back and dreaming of someone special’ pose.
And here it is again at another angle!
Then lastly, the classic seductress pose: draped across the furniture like a movie star of a beygone era.
